Tonga Police signs bilateral agreement with Australian Federal Police

Nuku’alofa, Tonga- Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for partnership and policing development for the Tonga Police with the Australian Federal Police (AFP) was signed this morning between the Hon. Minister of Police Lord Nuku and His Excellency Adrian Morrison, Australia High Commissioner to Tonga.

The new bilateral agreement replaces the tripartite agreement between Tonga, Australia and New Zealand that was known as the Tonga Police Development Program (TPDP) that commenced in 2008 and ended in June 2020.

The Hon. Minister of Police, Lord Nuku was very grateful for the support given by the Australian Government through the Australia Federal Police and was thankful for Australia’s future commitment working together with Tonga Police.
